Amal College of Advanced Studies Nilambur and Malabar Scholar jointly organise a One-Day Orientation programme on Preparing for Higher Education in Social Sciences and Humanities. The workshop will be led by the Malabar Scholar team and scholars from leading national and international institutes. With the support of local mentors, selected students will be enrolled in the Mentorship Programme of Malabar Scholar to receive regular academic support and guidance from mentors identified across disciplines. This includes sharing updates on new opportunities, preparing for admission in national and international institutes and competitive scholarship, guidance on basic research skills, academic writing, and regular orientation programmes in different levels of education. The local mentors identified from the nodal institutions plays a significant role in enabling the programme at various stages. We have already developed a core team of mentors from leading national and international institutes in key areas of social science and humanities subjects institute while continuing our effort in developing the team of mentors in STEM areas.

We encourage students enrolled in higher secondary, undergraduate and post-graduate levels to register for the mentorship programme. For effective organisation, we limit the maximum number of participants (25-30) and request the interested students to complete the registration before 7th November 2019. We also encourage teachers and parents to support this initiative and share your valuable feedback and attend the public event.
